Ang Alpha Ceti (α Cet, α Ceti) ay isang bituin sa konstelasyon ng Cetus. May tradisyunal na pangalan itong Menkar o Menkab. Nanggaling ang salitang Menkar mula sa salitang Arabe na منخر manħar "butas ng ilong" (ng Cetus).

Ang bituing ito, kasama ang γ Cet (Kaffaljidhma), δ Cet, λ Cet (Menkar), μ Cet, ξ1 Cet at ξ2 Cet ay mga Al Kaff al Jidhmah, "bahagi ng isang kamay".[8]

Sa Wikang Tsino, tumutukoy ang 天囷 (Tiān Qūn), na may kahulugang Circular Celestial Granary, sa isang asterismo na naglalaman ng α Ceti, κ1 Ceti, λ Ceti, μ Ceti, ξ1 Ceti, ξ2 Ceti, ν Ceti, γ Ceti, δ Ceti, 75 Ceti, 70 Ceti, 63 Ceti at 66 Ceti. Dahil dito, nakilala ang α Ceti bilang 天囷一 (Tiān Qūn yī, Ingles: the First Star of Circular Celestial Granary.)[9]
