Si Heinrich Rudolf Hertz (22 Pebrero 1857 – 1 Enero 1894) ay isang pisikong Aleman na nagbigay linaw at nagpalawig ng teoriyang elektromagnetiko ng liwanag ni James Clerk Maxwell na unang ipinakita ni David Edward Hughes gamit ang hindi mahigpit na mga pamamaraang pagsubok at pagkakamali. Si Hertz ay natatangi mula kay Maxwell at Hughes dahil siya ang una na konklusibong nagpatunay ng eksistensiya ng mga along elektromagnetiko sa pamamagitan ng mga instrumento ng inhinyerya upang magpadala at tumanggap ng mga pulsong radyo gamit ang mga pamamarang eksperimento na hindi nagbilang sa ibang mga walang kawad na phenomena.[1] Ang unit na siyentipiko ng prekwensiya na siklo kada segundo na hertz ay ipinangalan sa kanya.[2]
