Ang Unix ay isang operating system na ginawa nila Ken Thompson, Dennis Ritchie, Brian Kernighan, Douglas McIlroy, at Joe Ossanna sa Bell Labs. Unang nagsimula ang paggawa nito noong 1969 at unang manwal ay nailathala sa loob lamang ng pananaliksik na lugar noong Nobyembre 1971[1] at inanusyo sa labas ng Bell Labs noong Oktubre 1973.[2]
