Ang Afghanistan, binabaybay ring Apganistan, ay isang bansa sa Timog Asya. Ito ay pinalilibutan ng Iran sa kanluran, Pakistan sa timog at silangan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan at Tajikistan sa hilaga, at Tsina sa pinakasilangang bahagi ng bansa. Ito ay isa sa pinakamahirap na bansa sa mundo. Ang kahulugan ng salitang Afghanistan ay Lupain ng mga Afghan.

Ang bansa ay pinamamahalaan ng Taliban bilang Emiratong Islam ng Afghanistan simula noong Agosto 15, 2021 nang nasakop nila ang kabisera ng Kabul. Kinikilala pa rin ng pamayanang internasyunal ang pamahalaan ng napatalsik na Republikang Islam ng Afghanistan.
