History

Since 1992, the Sinanduloy cultural troupe has regaled the public with their songs, dances and other performances. The Sinanduloy Cultural Troupe has helped shape the values, character and minds of the youth of Tangub City and have turned them into able and proud ambassadors of goodwill not just in Tangub City but also in Misamis Occidental and in Region 10 as a whole. By winning awards in festivals and competitions all over the country, these young, talented and dedicated artists together with their equally dedicated trainors and advisers have placed Tangub City in the map.

Such was the vision of then former City Mayor Jennifer Wee-Tan and now first lady when she pulled together the scanty resources that were available and launched a youth development oriented program that aimed to advance the cultural life of Tangub City. Since then up to now, Sinanduloy has become synonymous with the name of the city itself. Sinanduloy cultural Troupe has 4 components, the Sinanduloy All Star Band, the Sinanduloy Instrumentalists, the Sinanduloy Singers and the Sinanduloy Dancers.

The Sinanduloy Instrumentalists was the Best In Musicality in the Sinulog 2005 at Cebu City.

The Sinanduloy All Star Band is recently the official representative of Region 10 for the Department of Tourism’s WOW Philippines held at Intramuros, Manila. They are about to release their Debut Album.

The Sinanduloy Singers is the Regional winner of the NMCYA (National Music Competions for Young Artists) and the First Honorable Mention in the National Level. The Grand Champion of the Philippine Travel Mart Choral Competition held at SM Mega-Trade Hall, Mandaluyong Manila. A resident choral performer of the Philippine Travel Mart of the Department of Tourism, Region 10. Invited by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts to perform during the Kalahi Cultural Care-giving on Millennium Development Goals at the Rajah Suliman Theater in Intramuros, Manila.

The famous Sinanduloy Dance Troupe was one of the representatives of our country the Philippines to the First International Dance Exchange – Workshop and Festival participated by different dance troupe around the world like, the HUNAN NORMAL UNIVERSITY DANCE TROUPE OF CHINA, the XIAMEN XIAO PAI LU OF CHINA, the BIG DANCE COMPANY OF ENGLAND, DANCE MODE STUDIO OF HONGKONG, SENJU DANCE COMPANY OF JAPAN, ASWARA DANCERS OF KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, THE DANCE ACADEMY KUCHING OF KUCHING MALAYSIA, the BADAN BUDAYA UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA SARAWAK OF SARAWAK MALAYSIA, the PERSADAKU SENI DANCERS OF SINGAPORE and the SRI LANKAN DANCE TROUPE OF SRI LANKA. The Sinanduloy Dancers with Instrumentalists is the Grand Champion of the Famous Sinulog Sa Sugbo in the year 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010 and 2011. Best in Costume in 2002 & 2003. Best In Street Dancing in 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011. The Sinanduloy Cultural Troupe was one of the nominees (top 6) for the Aliw Awards Best Cultural Group in the Philippines for two (2) consecutive years 2008 & 2009.

We take pride also to inform you that all members of the troupe are scholars of both colleges in Tangub City, NMSC with its former President and now a City Mayor Atty. Philip T. Tan and GADTC with its former College President and now a first lady Jennifer W. Tan.

2006- Sinulog Festival, Cebu City (Sinulog Based Category) Grand Prize Winner Best in Street Dancing. Best in Musicality in Minajak Festival, Calamba, Misamis Oriental.

2007- Sinulog Festival, Cebu City (Sinulog Based Category) Grand Prize Winner Best in street Dancing. Sinulog Festival Queen 1st Runner Up (Christine Villegas)

2008- Sinulog Festival, Cebu City (Sinulog Based Category) 2nd Prize Winner. Best in Street Dancing Kalahi Cultural Care-Giving on UN Millennium Development Goals, Rajah Sulayman

2009- Sinulog Festival, Cebu City (Sinulog Based Category) Grand Prize Winner Best in Street dancing. Sinulog Festival Queen. (Iris Mae Cena Linganay) Performer and representative of the Philippines during the Dance Exchange: the 1st International Dance Workshop and Festival on April 26- May 1, 2009. Official representative of Region X of the Department of Tourism’s WOW Philippines held at Intramuros, Manila (Sinanduloy All Star Band).
