Malaki na ang pinagbago ng internet sa Pilipinas simula noong 1994 kung saan unang nagkaroon nito ang bansa. Noong 2020, tinatayang 73,000,000 milyong Pilipino na ang gumagamit ng internet na 67% ng buong populasyon ng bansa.[1]

Ang Pilipinas ay mayroong tatlong Internet Exchange Points. Ang Philippines Open Internet Exchange (PhOPENIX), Philippine Internet Exchange (PhIX), and Philippine Common Routing Exchange (PHNET CORE).

Noong Hunyo 16 2016, nagkaroon ng kasunduan sa domestic ip peering ang PLDT at Globe Telecom. At kung matutuloy ang nasabing kasunduan, ibig-sabihin ay peered na ang dalawang telecom company sa isa't-isa na magpapabilis pa sa internet ng bansa.

Bilis ng Internet

Dahil sa mahinang signal, kawalan ng network infrastructure o cell sites, sobra sa kapasidad sa network at walang Post Office Protocol support ang mga websites at content delivery provider sa bansa, ang Pilipinas ang may pinakamabagal na internet sa Timog-Silangan Asya gayun din sa buong Asya. At hindi lang pinakamabagal kundi ang Pilipinas rin ang may pinakamahal na internet service sa lahat.[15].
