Ang The Else ay ang ikalabindalawang album ng studio sa pamamagitan ng rock group They Might Be Giants, na inilabas ng Idlewild Records noong 2007. Ang album ay ginawa sa bahagi ng The Dust Brothers, kasama sina Pat Dillett at ang banda.
Ang The Else ay unang magagamit para sa pag-download sa pamamagitan ng iTunes Store noong Mayo 15, 2007. Ang bersyon ng CD ay pinakawalan sa mga tindahan noong Hulyo 10, 2007, kasama ang paunang pagtakbo na sinamahan ng isang buong haba ng disc ng pambihirang materyal, Cast Your Pod To The Wind (ang pamagat na pagiging isang parody ng piano ng jazz na si Vince Guaraldi noong 1962 ay tumama na "Cast Your Fate to the Wind").[7] Noong Setyembre 11, 2007, naglabas ang banda ng isang gatefold vinyl LP ng album. Ang Iyong Pod ay ginawang magagamit nang hiwalay sa iTunes noong Hulyo, 2009.
Ang isang video, na nilikha ni Mizushima Hine, para sa "With the Dark" ay inilabas sa pahina ng band ng YouTube noong Hunyo 7, 2007. Dalawang iba pang mga video, para sa "The Shadow Government" at "I'm Impressed" ay pinalaya rin sa kalaunan. Ang isang buong haba ng video para sa "The Mesopotamians" ay inilabas sa Stereogum.com noong Oktubre 2.
Ang "Careful What You Pack" ay orihinal na isinulat para sa soundtrack ng 2009 film na Coraline, ngunit hindi ito sa huli ay ginamit sa pelikula.[8]
