Ang Kampeonato ng FIBA Asya 2015 ay ang ika-28 kampeonatong kontinental ng basketbol sa Asya. Inorganisa ng FIBA Asia ang torneo.

Sa FIBA Asia Congress na ginanap sa Doha, Qatar, iginawad ng Central Board ang karapatang magdaos nito sa Tsina.[2] Noong Disyembre 4, 2014, nakuha ng Chinese Basketball Association ang pagsang-ayon ng FIBA Asia upang ganapin ang men's championship sa Changsha, Hunan, habang ang women's championship ay gaganapin sa Wuhan, Hubei.[3]

Ang Tsina ay pasók na sa torneo ng baskebol sa Palarong Olimpiko sa Tag-init 2016 sa Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, habang ang Pilipinas, Iran at Hapon ay lalahok sa 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Men, alinsunod sa FIBA at sa International Olympic Committee sa qualification quota.

Kuwalipikasyon[baguhin | baguhin ang batayan]

Batay sa mga tuntunin ng FIBA Asia, ang bansang pagdarausan, ang Tsina at kampeon ng 2014 FIBA Asia Cup, ang Iran ay awtomatikong pasok na sa torneo. Ang Silangang Asya, Kanlurang Asya, Timog-silangang Asya, at Golpong Persian ay makapagpapadala ng tigalawang koponan habang tig-isa naman mula sa Gitnang Asya at Timog Asya. Ang apat pang puwesto ay ilalaan sa bawat sona batay sa kanilang naging laro sa 2014 FIBA Asia Cup. Samakatuwid, ang apat na koponan na ito ay ang Chinese Taipei, Pilipinas, Jordan at Japan na nagtapos sa apat na pinakamataas na puwesto kung di-kasama ang Iran at Tsina na una nang nakapasok sa kampeonato. Dahil dito, naragdagan ng dalawa pang puwesto ang Silangang Asya, habang tig-isa naman ang Timog-silangang Asya at Kanlurang Asya.
