Si Ang Kagalanggalang na Sir Charles Kuen Kao, GBM,[3] KBE,[4] FRS,[5] FREng[6] (ipinanganak noong 4 Nobyembre 1933) ay isang ipinanganak na Tsinong Hong Kong, Amerikano, at British na inhenyerong elektrikal na nagpasimula ng pagunlad at paggamit ng mga fiber optic sa telekomunikasyon. Siya ay kilala bilang "Ninong ng Broadband",[7] "Ama ng Fiber Optics"[8][9][10][11][12] o "Ama ng Fiber Optic Communications".[13][14] Siya ay ginawaran ng Gantimpalang Nobel sa Pisika noong 2009 kasama ng iba para sa nagpapasimulang mga nagawa na nauukol sa pagpasa ng liwanag sa mga fiber para sa komunikasyong optikal.[15] Si Kao ay may pagkamamamayan ng parehong United Kingdom at Estados Unidos.[7]
