Ang Miss Universe Philippines 2020 ay magiging ika-1 edisyon ng kompetisyon ng Miss Universe Philippines, sa ilalim ng bagong samahan.[1] Dati ang franchise ng Pilipinas ng Miss Universe ay nasa ilalim ng Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc..

Ang gabi ng coronation ay paunang naka-iskedyul para sa 3 Mayo 2020. Gayunpaman, dahil sa pandemya ng COVID-19, inilipat ito kahit dalawang beses; una hanggang 14 Hunyo 2020. at kalaunan hanggang 25 Oktubre 2020. Sa 14 Oktubre 2020, inanunsyo ng tagapag-ayos na ang Paunang kumpetisyon at Grand Finals ay kunan ng pelikula sa Baguio Country Club sa Baguio. Ang finals ay i-broadcast sa GMA Network.

Sa pagtatapos ng kaganapan, si Gazini Ganados ng Talisay, Cebu, ang nagwagi ng Binibining Pilipinas 2019, ay magpapasa ng titulo sa kanyang kahalili na may bagong korona na tinawag na "Filipina". Ang mananalo ay kumakatawan sa Pilipinas sa Miss Universe 2020.

Ang bagong Miss Universe Philippines ay iginawad sa Shamcey Supsup, pambansang direktor; ang bagong samahan ay gaganapin ang unang edisyon ng kompetisyon sa 3 Mayo 2020.[2][3][4]

Selection of participants[i-edit | i-edit ang source]

Noong Disyembre 2019, inilunsad ng samahan ang paghahanap nito sa susunod na Filipina na magiging kinatawan ng Pilipinas sa kumpetisyon ng Miss Universe 2020.[1][5][6][7] Noong 14 Pebrero 2020, ipinakita ang 52 na mga paligsahan ng Miss Universe Philippines 2020. Noong 28 Pebrero 2020, nakumpirma na ang Negros Occidental ay aalis sa pageant dahil gusto niyang tumuon muna ang kanyang pag-aaral.
