Pangkalahatang mas-matao ang mga lungsod kaysa mga bayan, bagamat ang mga lungsod ng Castle Rock at Parker ay may higit sa 49,000 residente, habang ang lungsod ng Black Hawk ay may mas-kaunti sa 130 residente.
Ang Lungsod ng Central ay ang tanging munisipalidad sa Colorado na hindi naglalagay ng buong pangalang pook sa dulo ng pangalang munisipalidad nito. Ang mga bayan ng Garden City, Lake City, Orchard City, and Sugar City ay mga itinakdang bayan sa kabila ng pagkakaroon ng salitang "city" sa dulo ng kanilang pangalan.
