Depende, kung mahaba ang nilalaman ng seksyon sa loob ng artikulo, puwedeng gumawa ng hiwalay na artikulo. Kung maikli naman o non-existing ang seksyon o paksa, hindi pa puwede ang karagdagang artikulo kahit pa mayroon itong katumbas na artikulo sa Ingles na Wikipedia o ibang bersyon. --Jojit (usapan) 05:31, 12 Enero 2022 (UTC)

Pangalan ng “instant noodles” sa Tagalog

Mayroon po akong mungkahi patungkol sa artikulo ng pangalan ng “instant noodles” (https://tl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramyun), hindi naman talaga ramyun ang pangalan ng Tagalog ng instant noodles, kundi dapat po “pansit de-instant”, “instant pansit” or “nudels de-instant”. Mga Gagamiting Katawagan

Napansin ko na ginagamit na ang mga bagong neolohismo (tulad ng haynayan, kapnayan, at liknayan) sa hatirang pangmadla. Angkop ba na palitan natin ang mga pamagat ng artikulong tulad ng biyolohiya, kimika, at pisika at gamitin natin ang mga neolohismong ito upang tukuyin ang mga katawagang ginagamit sa agham at matematika (tinatawag din na sipnayan) sa Wikipediang Tagalog?

Kung ako ang tatanungin, dapat gamitin natin yung mga laganap na salita sa Pilipinas (biyolohiya imbes na haynayan, halimbawa), tapos yung mga neolohismo, ilagay na lang bilang mga "ibang katawagan," parang ganito:

Ang biyolohiya, kilala rin sa tawag na haynayan, ay isang sangay ng agham [...]

Pero kung walang salin na laganap ang salita (tulad ng social media), hanggat maaari gamitin natin yung mga neolohismo, lalo na kung aktwal na ginamit yon sa mga libro at ibang literatura (kung di ako mali, may isang libro na aktwal na gumamit sa salitang "hatirang pangmadla" na nagsilbing basehan para gamitin yung salita na yon dito).

Para naman sa Maugnayin, pwede namang gamitin yon. Mas maganda kung may aktwal na link sa diksyonaryo na yon, kumpletong listahan. May nakita akong isa sa Reddit, isang zip file, pero kulang-kulang yon ng pahina at literal na kuha yon ng mga pahina ng libro (ie. hindi digitized). Para sa 2021, siyam na iba't ibang komunidad ng wika ang nag-ambag – Italian, Ukrainian, English, Tagalog, Igbo, Spanish, French, Central Bikol, at Catalan. Bilang karagdagan sa global drive, 12 miyembro ng  Wiki Loves Women’s Focus Group ay nagdaos ng lokal na pagsasanay at mga partisipasyon kasama ang kanilang mga komunidad.

Sa kabuuan ng 9 na wika ng  Wikiquote isang kolektibong 1,514 na artikulo ang nilikha.Tinitiyak nito na ang 1,514 na kilalang kababaihan na ang mga boses at karunungan ay dati nang hindi naitampok, ay madali nang ma-access.Ang mga artikulo para sa karagdagang 309 kababaihan ay napabuti. Bilang karagdagan, 638 na mga artikulo na nagtatampok ng mga kilalang kababaihan ay nilikha sa Kinyarwanda Wikipedia (Wikipediya mu Kinyarwanda) sa pamamagitan ng mga aktibidad ng miyembro ng Wiki Loves Women Focus Group sa Rwanda sa pakikipagtulungan sa Wikimedia Rwanda Usergroup.

Ang komunidad ng wikang Italyano sa pamamagitan ng sigasig ng pangkat ng Wiki Donne ay muling may pinakamalaking ambag sa Kampanya ng SheSaid. @Senior Forte Mukhang nagawa mo na nga ito sa artikulo. Sa arrow sa upper right ng pahina na kadalasan ay katabi ng "Kasaysayan", makikita ang opsyon na mag-redirect. Pindutin lamang ito at saka baguhin ang pangalan nito. Kung may gusto kang gawing iredirect na bagong red link/salita na wala pa sa Wikipedia Tagalog, i-search mo lang ang pangalan sa seachbox tapos enter. Tapos i-click mismo ang salita/input na makikita bilang isang red link. Pindutin ito at saka mapupunta ka sa paggawa ng bagong artikulo gamit ang batayan (source code). @Senior Forte Hindi ako mahusay pagdating diyan pero sa pagkakaalam ko, ang bayan ay isang ideolohiya o kadalasan ay sa kaisipan/damdamin, maging nasyonalismo o patriotismo. Ang bansa ay literal na isang soberanya o teritoryo na kadalasan ay malaya. Hindi na kailangang gumawa pa ng hiwalay na panibagong titulo o pamagat para diyan. Maaaring maglagay naman ng hiwalay na seksyon tulad ng "inang bayan" o "lupang tinubuan". Depende kasi yon. Halimbawa sa Ingles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeland#Motherland kung saan iba't ibang uri nalang o types ang nilalagay. • Improvements to make it easier to put a template on a page (3) (for the template dialogs in VisualEditor, 2010 Wikitext and New Wikitext Mode),
• and improvements in the syntax highlighting extension CodeMirror (4, 5) (which is available on wikis with writing direction left-to-right).

All these changes are part of the “Templates” project by WMDE Technical Wishes. We hope they will help you in your work, and we would love to hear your feedback on the talk pages of these projects.

@Likhasik: Thanks a lot for your comment. I'm sorry it took me a while to reply. Our work in the Templates project is nearly over, so we won't be adding new changes to our list. But there's a (small) possibility that something like this might fit into the new focus area that was just selected: Reusing references. It would be great if you could add your idea on the talk page over there, ideally with a bit more details.

Or do you basically wish to have the functionality from English Wikipedia on your wiki? @Johanna Strodt (WMDE) If possible, yes I'd like to have that functionality as well here in Tagalog Wikipedia. I even requested the admin, Jojit fb, to add it however it requires a lot of coding and knowledge about Wikipedia which I am still new to begin with. I am not an expert or truly qualified to add it here because I am not into coding yet and I don't know how to "Wikipedia" correctly.

To add more details, the functionality in which I am talking about is the auto-citation when editing and adding references in English Wikipedia. Here is an example which is problematic with this Wikipedia: The article "Globalisasyon" has a cluttered and messy Reference list. The reason is because there is no auto-cite function here that is why I even needed to copy-paste and translate from the English article Globalization. Sometimes it consumes a lot of time to type out manually the citation like the author, date, URL, page, ISBN, DOI etc. and some specific words like the archived version and appropriate Tagalog words. If you click Random pages here, you can even see that the references and citations are not uniform all throughout this Wikipedia. As you can see in the article I've sent, some URLs are just left out instead of being created a proper citation. It would be a huge boost to this wiki to have an auto-citation functionality. In this way, it could ease our burden and save time in creating a proper citation which overall improves productivity and overall uniformity. --Likhasik (kausapin) 13:02, 11 Marso 2022 (UTC)

Sa pagbabaybay ng mga pangalan ng mga bansa, minumungkahi ko na ihango natin ang karamihan mula sa wikang Kastila. Para sa ibang bansa sa Kastila na nagtatapos sa "cia", ito'y magtatapos sa "siya", tulad ng Francia kung saan ang baybay nito sa Tagalog ay Pransiya. Alinsunod nito, ang Croacia ay magiging Kroasiya. Sa mga mayroong "dia", papalitan ito ng "diya", tulad ng diamante na nagiging diyamante sa Tagalog. Alinsunod, ang India ay magiging Indiya. Sa mayroong "cua", papalitan ito ng "kuwa", tulad ng cuadrado na nagiging kuwadrado. Sa nagtatapos sa "sia", magtatapos ito sa "sya", tulad ng Asia na nagiging Asya sa Tagalog. We are glad to inform you that the 2022 edition of Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos campaign is coming up in July.

This is a formal invitation to invite individuals and communities to join the campaign to help improve Wikipedia articles with photos and contextual images.

The campaign will run from July 1 to August 31, 2022 and several communities and Wikimedia Affiliates have already indicated interest to organize the campaign in their localities. Please find your community or community closer to you to participate: WPWP2022 Campaign: Participating Communities.

The campaign primarily aims to promote using images from Wikimedia Commons to enrich Wikipedia articles that are lacking them. Participants will choose among Wikipedia pages without photos, then add a suitable file from among the many thousands of photos in the Wikimedia Commons, especially those uploaded from thematic contests (Wiki Loves Africa, Wiki Loves Earth, Wiki Loves Folklore, etc.) over the years. In this third edition of the campaign, eligibility criteria have been revised based on feedback and campaign Evaluation Reports of the previous editions. The Vector 2022 skin as the default in two weeks?

Hello. I'm writing on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation Web team. In two weeks, we would like to make the Vector 2022 skin the default on this wiki.

We have been working on it for the past three years. So far, it has been the default on more than 30 wikis, including sister projects, all accounting for more than 1 billion pageviews per month. On average 87% of active logged-in users of those wikis use Vector 2022.

It would become the default for all logged-out users, and also all logged-in users who currently use Vector legacy. Logged-in users can at any time switch to any other skins. No changes are expected for users of these skins.

About the skin

[Why is a change necessary] The current default skin meets the needs of the readers and editors as these were 13 years ago. Since then, new users have begun using Wikimedia projects. The old Vector doesn't meet their needs.

[Objective] The objective for the new skin is to make the interface more welcoming and comfortable for readers and useful for advanced users. It draws inspiration from previous requests, the Community Wishlist Surveys, and gadgets and scripts. The work helped our code follow the standards and improve all other skins. We reduced PHP code in Wikimedia deployed skins by 75%. The project has also focused on making it easier to support gadgets and use APIs.

[Changes and test results] The skin introduces a series of changes that improve readability and usability. The new skin does not remove any functionality currently available on the Vector skin.

• The sticky header makes it easier to find tools that editors use often. It decreases scrolling to the top of the page by 16%.
• The new table of contents makes it easier to navigate to different sections. Readers and editors jumped to different sections of the page 50% more than with the old table of contents. It also looks a bit different on talk pages.
• The new search bar is easier to find and makes it easier to find the correct search result from the list. This increased the amount of searches started by 30% on the wikis we tested on.
• The skin does not negatively affect pageviews, edit rates, or account creation. There is evidence of increases in pageviews and account creation across partner communities.

How can editors change and customize this skin?

It's possible to configure and personalize our changes. We support volunteers who create new gadgets and user scripts. Check out our repository for a list of currently available customizations, or add your own.

This year, Feminism and Folklore will focus on feminism, women's issues, and gender-focused topics for the project, with a Wiki Loves Folklore gender gap focus and a folk culture theme on Wikipedia.

You can help Wikipedia's coverage of folklore from your area by writing or improving articles about things like folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, women and queer folklore figures, folk game athletes, women in mythology, women warriors in folklore, witches and witch hunting, fairy tales, and more. Users can help create new articles, expand or translate from a list of suggested articles.

Organisers are requested to work on the following action items to sign up their communities for the project:

1. Create a page for the contest on the local wiki.
2. Set up a fountain tool or dashboard.
3. Create the local list and mention the timeline and local and international prizes.
4. Request local admins for site notice.
5. Link the local page and the fountain/dashboard link on the meta project page.

This year we would be supporting the community's financial aid for Internet and childcare support. This would be provided for the local team including their jury and coordinator team.
