Ang sumusunod ay isang talaan ng kinartang mga lungsod sa Pilipinas. Nakauri ang mga lungsod ng Pilipinas sa tatlong mga pangkat: Mataas na Urbanisadong mga Lungsod (Highly Urbanized Cities; HUC), Malayang Nakapaloob na mga Lungsod (Independent Component Cities; ICC), at Nakapaloob na mga Lungsod (Component Cities; CC).

Mga uri[baguhin | baguhin ang wikitext]

Ang Mataas na Urbanisadong mga Lungsod ay mga yunit ng lokal na pamahalaan na hiwalay sa mga lalawigan at may populasyong hindi bababa sa 200,000 at taunang kita na hindi bababa sa 50 milyon (sa halagang umiiral noong 1991). Ang Malayang Nakapaloob na mga Lungsod ay mga lungsod sa labas ng pamamahala ng mga lalawigan (bagamat ang ilan ay pinapahintulutang lumahok sa halalan ng mga opisyal ng pamahalaan) na hindi pa natatamo ang katayuang 'mataas na urbanisado', habang ang Nakapaloob na mga Lungsod ay yaong nasa pamamahala ng mga lalwigan.[1] Bilang karagdagan, bawat lungsod ay ibinukod sa anim na mga kaurian sa kita ayon sa kita sa loob ng apat na taong panahon. Halimbawa, ang Unang Klaseng mga lungsod ay may kitang hindi bababa sa 400 milyon, habang ang Ika-anim na Klaseng mga lungsod ay may kitang hindi hihigit sa 80 milyon sa loob ng apat na taon.

Bawat lungsod ay pinamamahala sa kapuwa Kodigo ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng 1991[2] at ang sariling kartang munisipal ng lungsod, sa ilalim ng mga batas ng Republika ng Pilipinas.

Mayroong 146 na mga lungsod magmula noong 7 Setyembre 2019.[3] Tatlumpu't-tatlo sa kanila ay mga Mataas na Urbanisado (Highly Urbanized; HUC), lima ay Malayang Nakapaloob (Independent Component; ICC), habang ang iba ay mga nakapaloob (component; CC) sa kani-kanilang mga lalawigan. Tanging ilang mga karta bago mag-1987 lamang ang nakapagtakda ng petsa ng pagkabisa (tulad ng mga karta ng Tagbilaran at Dipolog) o kinailangan ng isang plebisito para makuha ng lungsod ang corporate existence (tulad ng mga karta ng Caloocan o Laoag). Ngunit mula noong 1987, kinakailangan ng lahat ng mga karta ng lungsod ang pagpapatibay sa pamamagitan ng isang plebisito, kalakip ng isang mayorya ng mga pagboto ng mga residente ng lungsod na sumasang-ayon sa karta. Kung walang sapat na makukuhang impormasyon, ang petsa ng pag-aproba ng karta ay ipinalalagay na petsa ng kaniyang pagkabisa, at ang petsa na ito ay nakapahilis.
